How is heat transferred in an asphalt heating tank?

Asphalt heating tank, also known as asphalt storage tank, adopts a heating method that combines heat pipe heating and fire pipe direct heating, i.e., heat pipe direct heating. Then, how to transport and store an asphalt heating tank?

Asphalt heating tank is composed of a sealed shell, a liquid wick close to the surface of the shell, and a working fluid encapsulated in the shell after the shell is evacuated. When the heat source heats one end of the heat pipe, the working fluid is heated to boil and evaporate, and the steam flows to the other end of the heat pipe at a high speed under the pressure difference, releasing potential heat at the cold end and condensing.

The condensating liquid returns from the cold end to the hot end under the capillary suction force of the wick. The heat is continuously transferred from the hot end to the cold end. Therefore, the normal working process of the heat pipe is a closed cycle composed of the evaporation of liquid, the flow of steam, the condensation of the steam, and the reflux of condensating liquid.

The heat source of the heating section transfers heat to the heat pipe. The outside of the adiabatic section is a section where there is no heat exchange with the heat pipe. This section is not important for all heat pipes.

The cooling section is the section where the heat pipe releases heat to the cold source, and is the section where the heat pipe itself is cooled. From the heat transfer situation of the working fluid inside the heat pipe, the heat pipe can also be divided into three sections.

The working liquid of the asphalt heating tank absorbs heat and evaporates into steam. The steam enters the inner cavity of the heat pipe and flows to the cold section.

The condensation section corresponds to the external cooling section. The steam condenses into liquid in this section and transfers heat to the cold source. The evaporation section and the condensation section have the same internal structure. When the thermal state of the external environment changes, the two working sections of evaporation and condensation are completely interchangeable. The heat transfer methods of the heat pipe of the asphalt heating tank include all mentioned above.
